I know this might sound absolutely elementary, but are there personal loans for the unemployed?

With unemployment rates soaring and home foreclosures escalating almost daily,  it is a question that many out-of-work people in need of money to tide them over until they secure another job are asking.

If you’ve lost your job, you feel vulnerable in every way, how will you pay your bills, and feed your family?  The need to find another job soon is pressing, but wouldn’t it be great if there were fast loans for the unemployed?

Actually, today, you can get a loan even without a job.  It may not be the easiest thing that you have ever done, but a loans for the unemployed are available and can be applied for online.  That is some terrific news because if anyone ever needed a loan it is some one who doesn’t have a regular job.

However, common sense would make you think that unemployed people are the last people who would be eligible for a loan, but this is not necessarily true.

We’ve all seen the ads on the Internet, television, newspapers, and our mail boxes are full of loan offers for people with top notch credit scores, but what most people don’t know is that some people even if they are unemployed can also get favorable loans.  Under certain circumstances, a loan for the unemployed can even be a snap.

For instance, it is common knowledge that professionals, doctors, lawyers, athletes, and teachers have an easier time getting loans. These people can get loans fairly easily even if there is no job on the horizon. The lender wants to  ensure that the loan recipient has the means to repay the loan at some future date.  And, based on prior history and good credit rating, these people can probably qualify for a loan even though they may be presently unemployed.  These loans would fall into the category of unsecured loans for the unemployed, and would not require you to put up some or all of your assets as collateral.

Criteria For Personal Loans For The Unemployed

The lender criteria for personal loans for the unemployed, that is people who are temporarily out of work and don’t have cash money, is, do they have the ability to pay the loan back based either on their past history or their current work situation.

So, even though you are unemployed there are some things that can be used to determined if you qualify for a loan. While different lenders use different criteria on which to base their loan decisions, here are few things that lenders always look at:

(1) credit rating

(2) occupation

(3) amount of loan

(4) collateral (assets that you now own)

(5) amount in savings account

(6) unemployment benefits

(7) sources of other types of income

(8) type of loan you want or need

Here is another thing to consider.  While you are unemployed, money is something you obviously need.  So, if you can get a loan, you need to take it, right?  Well, yes and no, if you do obtain a loan, you want to be sure that you can pay it back without default.

Honestly, when you are unemployed,  how can you pay it back?  Ask yourself this question because you can be sure this question will be first and foremost on the mind of the lender.  Therefore, it should be in the mind of the one requesting the loan as well.

In general, personal loans for the unemployed can be had under certain circumstances, just make sure that you have the means somewhere, somehow to pay it back.
